Welcome to the House of Mica Peace Chamber
The House of Mica is a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for the earth and promoting personal healing and world peace through chanting, sacred dance, ceremony and earth stewardship. We are part of a network of about 25 such peace chambers located around the world based on the vision of the Native American Medicine Person, Beautiful Painted Arrow/ Joseph Rael.
The House of Mica community cares for two peace chambers. Our primary location is Upstate New York where we have been holding ceremonies and maintaining the House of Mica Peace Chamber since 1998. In 2015, we began facilitating ceremony in Abiquiu, New Mexico and in 2020 we became stewards of land and a second peace chamber on Little Mesa in Abiquiu, New Mexico. The name of the Peace Chamber in Abiquiu is "In the beginning, we stood up and became two-leggeds." Learn about our New Mexico mission of earth stewardship, our story of being called to the land, and its history.
We are currently involved in a fund-raising effort that will allow us to partner with a native, woman-owned company to manifest a modest adobe building at Little Mesa. To arrange a visit to Little Mesa, please contact us.
For information about activities in both New York and New Mexico, check our calendar.
The community is held by Rick and Elisa Cotroneo and a Board of Directors. We are a non-denominational, non-dogmatic, non-residential, loosely knit spiritual community that is open to all. If you are interested in learning more, please feel free to contact us.
